Lyrics to Peach Cobbler

Come on down and over yonder
Arkansas the natural wonder
Make you feel right at home
With your big black eye
And your broken bone

We wanna say welcome to the OKC
Taken that trip down I40
Just come on in and take a seat
Have a glass of our sweet tea

Hitchin their trailers to the F5 fiasco
Betties roundin’ that track like their drivin’ for NASCAR
The Arkansas Killbillies are itchin' for a fight
But you know these Thrashers ain’t
Givin' up tonight

Come on down
The to the roller derby, where you can call everybody friend
Don’t be surprised when we get a little dirty
We know how much you like to see bloodshed.

RAP SECTION
Well it’s Sin and Jesster and were throwin' it up again.
Let you remember that it’s our rink that you in.

Don’t take offense to the things that you see.
Cause we’re just keeping it country.

Were pullin up in a truck full of girls.
Spittin' skoal and smokin’ Marburls.

In the bed there’s a three legged dog.
Now everybody call them hogs. SOOOOEEIIII

In the south what’s yours in mine.
We’re passin round that jug of moonshine.
In the bathtub’s full of beers.
And on our walls hang dead deers.

We took 'em down with a sawed off shotgun.
Just ask Billy Bob, cause you know you want one.

Don’t hate us just because Clinton got some.
He was chasin’ tail, but not from opossum.

Speakin' of lettuce let us say NWARG.
We rock the camel-toe and we rock it hard.

Now come on everybody into our backyard,
while we get To’ Up with those girls from TARG.

Sooie, now you’re in the south.
Sooie, where we got loud mouths
Sooie, welcome to this bout
Sooie, FRONT ROW WATCH OUT.

Fun

Last night's bout was fun.
The team I coached won by around 50 pts I believe. And the AllStar team won by 100.
I helped Pro run lineups, (and threw in one piece of strategy in one jam but their winning was their work and her insane amount of coaching skills).

It was super fun. The crowd was really small. Due to issues with the manager of the arena once again, the commercials didn't get rolling till Thursday or Friday. And I know I personally didn't promote as well as I could have, so maybe everyone had the same sort of drive. I think at this point everyone is pretty worn out from the season. Not playing, but all the behind the scenes crap.

Jesster and I went to the mall yesterday and were stopped in the parking lot and asked "Hey are you guys rollergirls"...blah blah blah. Not uncommon due to a shirt with a logo or something on it, but the weird thing was that they wanted autographs, but had never been to a game and did not know we were playing that night. I just think it's a weird thing (that seems to happen a lot). Fans of this "thing" we have created, are sorta just vocal supports. Maybe they just like the concept, but never bother to actually go watch or have any interest in the game itself.

Last night Jesster and I were to perform "Peach Cobbler". We practiced about 1000 times before the bout, driving up to the bout, in the corner before we performed it, etc. Forgetting that I had to sing the national anthem (even though I am the one doing it lately), I never ran through it, or set myself up for what key to sing it in. Needless to say I started off pretty high. Yeah, I made it through it, but it was not a stellar performance by any means. Right after I started I had the realization of what was happening and got nervous (I need to drink....hahaha) and my vibrato was pretty fast. Oh well, I guess I can redeem myself in September.

Peach Cobbler was badass though. I think it was funny to OKC and to NWARG, but the crowd probably didn't get what we were doing at all.

Today I am going to some sort of low key audition for Gridron? Sounds pretty silly, but I'm going to check it out anyway.

One final thing about last night that was great was that I finally have a diagnosis of my knee injury. Apparently it's not really my knee, it's some sort of band that runs from my knee to my hip. When I fell I stretched it too far and had micro tears in it. Nothing serious, but it has never really gotten any better. That's why only specific movement makes it hurt. I can walk around in heels all day, but an actual fall on my knee or moving my knee a certain way, still creates a lot pain. So Katie advised on ways to help it heal Wish I would have known that months ago, but I guess that's why I needed to see a sports person rather than a regular doctor. (She is a former trainer for the Razorbacks).

Looking forward to our last home game and to our trip to Lincoln, NE.

Resuming non-derby life now.

Bangin' Banjos

Countrifried Peach Cobbler

Jesster rocked out another rap before the bout. I helped a bit. It's pretty damn funny, though as usual, it's funnier to derby girls due to the amount of inside jokes.
It's all about country.

p.s. Peach Cobbler was the name of one of the Apple Loops used to make the song.

Local Fair, Gawking Carnies & Fireballs

So my fave photographer Lena Regina called Jesster the other day and asked if she & I would do a shoot at the Tontitown Grape Festival. The idea was supposed to be a funny sort of juxtaposition between cracked out fair-going meth heads and girls in various non-fair going outfits. She wanted this to be a test run for a larger scale shoot we will be doing at the Washington County Fair. So we got gussied up in punkish/glamish/bridal apparel and headed north to Tontitown.

With my heels sinking into the field with every step, weaving between ferris wheels and tilt-a-whirls, we finally got some fun shots.

Wash-Co fair will be really fun. We are going to be more over the top in dress including billowy formals, etc, but this was a fun test-run.

Anyway, here are some of the shots she got:

Someday IE will get a clue

Nevermind about the site. It's broke-ass in IE. Working on it now.

Sorry Brainstorm dudes.

<3

3:00 a.m. again.

I have been up till after 3:00am every night this week. What's changed? Coffee. I have been drinking coffee and night and apparently am not used to it. Getting a lot of work done though, so that's nice.

On Monday night we went to metal night to watch Dirt Mother.I wanted to try to record some of their songs.

Took my laptop and talked with Thirteen, the nice sound guy. We set up a mic and tan it into my mixer, then my laptop. For being super ass loud and meeeeeetal, it ended up a pretty good live recording (nothing was ran from the board into the mixer, just one mic).

Here are the results (not intended for non-metal lovers):
Track 01

Track 02

Track 03

Tonight has been spent re-designing the Brainstorm Tattoo site. Got some help from Free CSS Templates, but added some style and some Lightbox galleries.

Ok, going to try to sleep now.

August and I seem to agree.

So we sold the motorcycle.
Travis ordered his Rickenbacker last night. It arrived today.

I had finally decided I liked the Vino 125,

and the dealer actually found one that they could pick up from Mena, AR, but today I decided to just save my $ like a responsible person. If I still want one, I will maybe buy a used one under $1000...because hell it's not my source of transportation. It's just for fun.

Coaching for the Backwoods Betties is a lot of fun.

It's challenging for sure and it was nice to have La TeachYa's Pet there to help, but I like it when things start clicking and the girls get motivated and bust ass. A few well executed hits were delivered as well as some good walls against the jammer. Hope to see more next Tuesday. We have no idea what OKC will be bringing, but I think our team will do well. (This next bout is against OKC's Tornado Alley Rollergirls. Our Allstars, the Arkansas Killbillies are playing their all star team. They are bringing a second travel team to play a second team of ours. That's the Backwoods Betties.)

Things are really good. Life, love, health, finances, derby, pets & friends. I was in a slump for a while, but for some reason it got real hot outside and things shaped up.

High Hopes

Today my hopes are that we sell the motorcycle soon so that Travis
can finally get his Rickenbacker Bass and I can buy this:

Then I can be JessTer's scooter buddy.

Almost the weekend

So lots of things have been happening, but I can't seem to find the time to blog about them.

Sarah Mc Gregor's bacherlorette party was last weekend. Fun! Got to spend time with Bevy. We went and got pedicures, as per our tradition.

The bout ended up being a success, although we had some "issues" before and during. Namely me fighting with the manager. Let me rephrase that, me trying to have a conversation with the manager and he in turn throwing a little-man-baby-fit which ended up with him flipping me off in front of a crowd of people at the arena. It was sweet.

Whatever, he is bald and fat, so I win. (That's my little fit)

The dogs got all updated on vaccines, etc. I took notice of my budgeted pet allowance this month when it went from $50 to over $300 for the month. Yeah, being a responsible pet owner is not cheap. The kitties go in next week. Wee.

Harlot get together tomorrow night. I am excited. I love me some Harlots. Apparently not as much as Jesster because she spent all day writing this song, which we recorded the day of the bout.

We have new Harlot photos as well, I will post soon I hope.

CSS all day long. Yeah that's what I have been doing.

OK time to go home.
